FOR PRODUCERS: SCRIPT REWRITE USING PRODUCITON BOARD & BUDGET

Rewrites by a Screenwriter are mostly conducted without regard to Schedule and Budget; thus, the changes can incur a higher production cost. However, when a script needs to be rewritten to cut costs without story loss, the Screenwriter must know how to use the "Board" and the Budget to assess what affect the script changes incur. Most are not versed in this aspect. The script changes will be assessed against the Production Board to determine a reduction of scheduled days and possible reduction of a character’s days, which can save monies on paying an actor. The fewer scheduled day cost savings can be estimated by the Below-The-Line daily average expenditures derived from the Budget.  Provided the Screenwriter knows Story Structure and its elements, the rewrite should be done without story loss. Undertaking this complex rewrite provides Producers with the maximum benefit. PRICE NEGOTIABLE
